6th Annual Big Apple Film Festival held November 3-7 at Tribeca Cinemas in New York City

The 6th Annual Big Apple Film Festival took place November 3-7 at Tribeca Cinemas in New York City. The festival included 114 films of all lengths and genres, many of which will be NYC premieres.

Additionally, the festival included a series of Q and A’s with special guest filmmakers, producers and actors, as well a closing night awards presentation and opening and closing night receptions sponsored by Stella Artois and Bulldog Gin.

Feature film highlights included: “Against the Current” starring Joseph Fiennes, Elizabeth Reaser and Mary Tyler Moore(official selection 2009 Sundance Film Festival), critically acclaimed New York romantic comedy “Breaking Upwards” starring  Zoe Lister-Jones (State of Play), Julie White (Transformers), Peter Friedman (The Savages), Olivia Thirlby (Juno), and Andrea Martin (My Big Fat Greek Wedding), HBO documentary “Schmatta: Rags to Riches to Rags”, “Love Hurts”, starring Richard E. Grant, Carrie Ann Moss, Janeane Garofalo, “Just Laugh” featuring interviews with Regis Philbin, Danny Aiello, Joel Osteen.

The festival also included an array of short narrative films and short documentary subjects. Highlights included:  “The Cookie Thief” starring Eric Roberts, “Abbie Cancelled”(official selection 2009 Sundance Film Festival), “Adelaide” (Grand Jury Award for Best Short, 2009 Gen Art Film Festival), “Home is Where you Find it” (executive produced by Neal Baer, “Law and Order: SVU”).
