This year the Big Apple Film Festival presented a panel discussion entitled, "Film Distribution in the New Age". The panel focused on new outlets available to filmmakers in the 21st century to distribute and market independent films. The discussion included information on the current trends available in the area of digital distribution, the future of independent film distribution through online, on demand and digital cable outlets and how to utilize online resources most effectively to market content, through websites such as YouTube and MySpace .

Panelists include: Peter Goldwyn (Vice President Acquisitions, Samuel Goldwyn Films), Clémence Taillandier (Head of Theatrical Sales, Zeitgeist Films), Brian Chirls (Four Eyed Monsters), Erik Davis (Managing Editor, Cinematical.com ). The panel was moderated by Aaron Levine of the Gen Art Film Division.
