2007 BAFF Opening Night to feature NYC Premiere of "Owl and the Sparrow" (Winner -- Audience Award 2007 Los Angeles Film Festival, nominee 2007 Gotham Award for Breakthrough Director) and Alan Cumming's "Suffering Man's Charity" (starring Alan Cumming, David Boreanaz, Anne Heche, Carrie Fisher)

The 2007 Big Apple Film Festival will present a double feature opening night event. The festival will open on November 14 at 6 p.m. with the New York City premiere of "Owl and the Sparrow", winner of the 2007 Los Angeles Film Festival Audience Award. Director Stephane Gauger, 2007 Gotham Award Nominee for Breakthrough Director, will be in attendance for a Q and A following the screening.

At 8:30 p.m. the festival will feature its Golden Apple Event with a screening of "Suffering Man's Charity" directed by Alan Cumming and starring Alan Cumming, David Boreanaz, Anne Heche and Carrie Fisher. Following the screening Alan Cumming will be presented with the Big Apple Film Festival honorary "Golden Apple Award."

The evening will conclude with a reception in the Tribeca Cinemas Reception Lounge, which all guests with ticket stubs or festival passes are welcome to attend.

Opening night screenings and the reception will take place at the Tribeca Cinemas, 54 Varick Street (on the corner of Canal Street).

Online tickets will go on sale on November 1. To purchase tickets for either film go to the 2007 BAFF official program. Click the purchase tickets icon next to the title of the film you would like to attend. Tickets may also be purchased at the Tribeca Cinemas box office on the day of the event beginning at 5:30 p.m. However, it is recommended that attendees purchase tickets in advance online.
